I have always been fascinated with building and design. Recruiters often ask me - "Education in Philosophy...how did you get here, working in real estate and construction?"...

Truthfully, I fell into this industry by accident. I graduated from the University of Toronto with an Honor's BA in Political Science and Philosophy with a focus on the foundations of the legal system. The plan had always been Law School. But I wasn't passionate about Law.

So, searching the University Job Board, I got a summer job working at a construction company in the office. And I loved it! It was exciting and interesting. I was offered a full time role and moved-up the ranks, working on municipal contracts and learning about construction operations.
I transitioned from that company to BentallGreenOak, then Bentall Kennedy, working within the Technical Services and Project Management group, supporting BGO's multi-family residential portfolio on large scale capital projects, certification programs (LEED, BOMA, Fitwel), annual budget development and the launch and management of several Ancillary Revenue programs.

In 2021, I joined Preston Living/DBS Developments, a rapidly-growing firm with a long history in property management and operations. What intrigued me was their impressive development pipeline and the opportunity to work alongside experts in the development, construction and creation of new multi-family communities across the GTA.

In 2023, I started my current role of Manager, Capital Projects at Fitzrovia, a real estate firm headquartered in Toronto, ON. Fitzrovia is a fully integrated real estate firm, set on reinventing the rental property and providing an exceptional experience for renters. As Manager, Capital Projects, I oversee large-scale projects that aim to reposition and reimagine vintage rental properties.

As I continue to grow my career, I am excited at the prospect of working on new projects, playing a role in the creation of communities for people to call home.

FUN FACT
My interest in buildings started at a young age. Perhaps influenced by my architect father, I remember playing on Microsoft Word, creating floorplans and designing buildings as a child. I was about 8 years old when my parents gifted me 3D Home Architect, one of the earlier releases of what is now widely known as Chief Architect Software, a CAD based drawing system.
